Conare reaches its 20th anniversary as a guarantee of protection and support for refugees in Venezuela
Conare, which reaches its 20th anniversary, was born by order of Commander Hugo Chávez, through the Organic Law for Refugees and Asylums (LORRAA), and is responsible for guiding and coordinating the necessary actions to provide assistance and legal support for refugee seekers and refugees.
During these two decades, the institution has known closely and decided on cases of determination of refugee status, cessation and loss of this status, in addition, it has resolved matters related to repatriation, in accordance with the procedures and criteria established in Venezuelan legislation and international treaties and conventions validly signed by the country.
Geostrategic location
Conare currently has 04 regional offices: one in Caracas and the other three, geostrategically located on the vast land border between Venezuela and Colombia, covering states such as Zulia, Táchira and Apure, where the vulnerable population that enters Venezuelan territory is served.
