President Maduro: ‘Venezuela’s five branches of government rule constitutionally’

In his Annual Address to the Nation, the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, said that Venezuela’s five branches of government rule constitutionally.

“Nationwide and abroad, nobody doubts that Venezuela’s five branches of government are in force and fully functional,” he stressed at the Federal Legislative Palace, in Caracas, in the company of the top representatives of the country’s branches of government, the Diplomatic Corps to Venezuela, his cabinet, mayors and governors.

The Venezuelan president pointed out that the installation of the National Assembly took place “as foreseen in 2020 in the December 6 elections where this National Assembly was chosen.”

“The National Assembly became the axis, the epicenter of the reinstitutionalization and strengthening of the branches of government and the Venezuelan democracy,” he said.

“It’s a first great achievement in 2021 […] You became the political, legislative epicenter of the debate of ideas, freedom and the reinstitutionalization of the branches in Venezuela,” stressed Maduro.

In that vein, the Venezuelan head of State highlighted the fact that the plan to establish a parallel power of the Colombian drug trafficking oligarchy failed. “It was a total failure. It is a victory for the country the Constitution and all Venezuelans.”
