Venezuela and Russia review multilateral cooperation agenda developed in 2021

The Vice-minister for Multilateral Issues and national coordinator before the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-Peoples’ Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP), Rubén Darío Molina, held a working meeting with the ambassador of the Russian Federation accredited in Venezuela, Sergey Mélik-Bagdasárov, in order to review and evaluate the extensive multilateral cooperation agenda developed during this year 2021.

From the Social Heroes Room of Casa Amarilla, in Caracas, Vice-minister Molina indicated that both countries have provided mutual support within the various mechanisms that converge in the United Nations (UN) and other specialized organizations, where they have agreed on the defense of an inclusive multilateralism and a multicenter and pluripolar world.

Likewise, he stressed that Venezuela and Russia advocate for a United Nations without double standards, for multilateral organizations that respond to the interests of the peoples, for the right to development and free self-determination of sovereign States to be respected, in accordance with the Charter of the United Nations, which both nations defend through the Group of Friends made official this year.

In addition to the bilateral strategic alliance that Venezuela and Russia maintain, with fruitful agreements in areas such as education, health, defense, technology, energy, housing, trade and agriculture; both countries also cooperate with coincident positions in multilateral spaces and international forums.
