President Maduro orders to increase number of Plan Vuelta a la Patria flights

Thousands of Venezuelans have returned to their country via the Plan Vuelta a la Patria, said President Nicolás Maduro on Wednesday.

The Venezuelan president explained that nearly 60,000 Venezuelans residing in Peru have expressed their wish to return to their country. In this regard, he ordered Vice-president Delcy Rodríguez to increase the number of flights and routes of this social program that offers free flights to Venezuelan nationals.

President Maduro elaborated on the causes that have led some Venezuelans leave the country and search for a better fate. “Along these difficult years, that migration has an economic cause. The country was subjected to pressures, and a part of the population took that path,” he said.

Nevertheless, he pointed out that most Venezuelan migrants left the country with money after selling their belongings and believing in false promises of welfare, jobs and prosperity.

“The best country for love, solidarity and courtesy is Venezuela. The best people are the Venezuelan people, who do not discriminate or hate anyone. That’s the truth!” said President Maduro, who invited all Venezuelan nationals to return to their homeland.

“I tell you all that you’re welcome. We’ll receive you with our fraternal embrace. Venezuela is waiting for you to come and fill your lives and families with love,” he said.
