Venezuela’s, India’s foreign ministers reaffirm intention to strengthen bilateral, multilateral relations

As part of his agenda in New York, Venezuela’s Foreign Minister Félix Plasencia held a meeting with his counterpart from the Republic of India, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar.

The Venezuelan foreign minister highlighted that they addressed issues related to their bilateral relation and multilateral cooperation, “always under the premise of strengthening our ties with the Indian people and Government.”

The meeting was also attended by Venezuela’s Vice-minister for Asia, the Middle East and Oceania, Capaya Rodríguez, and Permanent Representative to the UN-New York, Samuel Moncada.

India and Venezuela have maintained friendly, commercial cooperation ties since October 1, 1959, and their bilateral relations have been marked by cordiality, complementarity and the respect for the self-determination of the peoples, aspects that have been strengthened by the Bolivarian Revolution.
