Venezuela’s Tourism Minister Alí Pdarón met on Thursday with the President of the Russian Union of Travel Industry, Andrei Ignatiev, on the occasion of the 24th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, an event that promotes international talks to solve economic difficulties faced by the world’s emerging markets.
At the meeting, the two authorities exchanged ideas and ways to work together so that Venezuela «be full of tourists, » said Padrón, who underlined that the meeting was marked by «solidarity, cooperation, understanding and mutual respect. »
Likewise, the Venezuelan tourism minister also met with Elena Lisenkova, representative of the Federal Agency for Tourism, to move forward with tourism cooperation between the two countries and agree to hold a World Shop with the participation of Russian tour operators to work in Venezuela and Venezuelan tour operators to work in the Russian Federation.
«This is good news. The Venezuelan people should be aware of the work carried out by the Ministry for Tourism with the support of President Nicolás Maduro […] We are working to benefit Venezuela as a megadiverse, multidestination country, » he stressed.
The 24th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, themed “A Collective Reckoning of the New Global Economic Reality,” will take place through June 5 with the participation of business representatives from Africa, Germany, Italy, Qatar, Latin America, North America, Finland, France, Sweden, Japan, the Eurasian Economic Union and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations.
