With the aim of strengthening joint cooperation in the multilateral sphere, the Vice-minister for Multilateral Issues of the People’s Power Ministry for Foreign Relations, Daniela Rodríguez, met this Friday with the Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus accredited in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Andrei Leonidovich Molchan.
From the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry, Vice-minister Rodríguez explained that the meeting was conducive to carrying out “a comprehensive review of the different priority issues, both at the United Nations and in other multilateral spaces (…) to agree on a position regarding upcoming events”.
Likewise, both diplomatic authorities discussed the initiatives jointly developed by Venezuela and Belarus, highlighting the group of friendly countries in defense of the United Nations Charter.
“We reviewed other initiatives where the Republic of Belarus and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela share interests in fostering a strategic relationship to safeguard the principles and purposes of the United Nations Charter, to fight against the extraterritorial imposition on national provisions, against the unilateral coercive measures and combat the terrible tendency of some countries to use human rights as a political instrument”, added the Vice-minister.
Venezuela and Belarus, since the beginning of their diplomatic relations, have adhered themselves to the principles of mutual respect, reciprocal benefit and common development, deepening mutual political trust and pragmatic cooperation, maintaining an excellent trend towards the positive development of bilateral relations.
