In order to review the commitments assumed in the framework of the 1st Venezuela-South Africa Business Forum, held in the city of Caracas in January 2020, a videoconference was held between authorities of both nations for the promotion of commercial relations in the mining sector, through the exchange of knowledge and technical assistance.
At this meeting, held through the Zoom platform, was attended by the ambassador of South Africa in Venezuela, Joseph Nkosi; the ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to the Republic of South Africa, Mairin Moreno; the General Dwirector of the Office of the Vice-ministry for Africa of the People’s Power Ministry for Foreign Relations, Laura Cordones and the Vice-minister of Exploration and Ecominera Investment, Alejandro Martínez and the director of International Affairs, Aria na Rodriguez, on behalf of the People’s Power Ministry for Ecological Mining Development.
During the conference, the authorities confirmed their interest in developing joint projects in the field of mining, machinery distribution and other services for organized associations of small miners.
“We are going to generate a work plan that allows defining specific mining projects, focused on small mining, more efficient machines to concentrate gold ore, in addition to the exchange of knowledge and technology”, said Vice-minister Martínez.
In order to turn Venezuela into a mining power, it is a pleasure to have the advice of the South African nation, due to its extensive experience in the sector.
