In order to strengthen the fraternal, cooperation ties with the Russian Federation, Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza met on Tuesday with Ambassador Sergey Malik-Bagdasarov to discuss the cooperation alliance between their countries in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, and the advance of the vaccination campaign to immunize the Venezuelan people thanks to the regular arrival of vaccines from Russia.
In late March this year, Venezuela and Russia endorsed 12 agreements including 20 strategic areas on the occasion of a meeting of the High-Level Intergovernmental Commission, where the two countries set the 2021-2031 working agenda for strategic economic, transport areas.
The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, explained that these agreements included the financial, energy, military, education, scientific, technological, and pharmaceutical areas, among others.
“These agreements are aimed to have a positive impact on the Venezuelan people, who have been affected by the unilateral coercive measures imposed by the US Government against our country,” said the Venezuelan president on that occasion.
