The Vice-minister for the Caribbean, Raúl Li Causi, held a telematic meeting with the Secretary General of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS), Ambassador Rodolfo Sabonge, in which they reviewed and analysed the regional panorama in preparation for the the next Ordinary Meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Association scheduled for next May 27.
During the meeting, Vice-minister Li Causi reiterated to Ambassador Sabonge the support of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to join forces and work together in the promotion of strategies that allow to face the new challenges that the COVID-19 has imposed on the Greater Caribbean region during the last year, to which are added the vulnerabilities of some members of the Association, such as Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, which is currently facing the ravages of the recent La Soufrière volcano eruption, as well as the threat posed to island States by the upcoming hurricane season.
In this way, once again, Venezuela and the General Secretariat of the ACS ratified their interest in strengthening the existing cooperation ties, under the commitment to advance towards the realization of the next Action Plan 2022-2025, which should be nurtured by programs and projects that can meet the needs of the Association’s member countries based on the particular realities that each one faces.
