The Vice-minister for Asia, the Middle East and Oceania of the People’s Power Ministry for Foreign Relations, Capaya Rodríguez, held a videoconference on Wednesday with the First Vice-minister of Foreign Relations of the Republic of Iraq, Nazar Al Khairallah.
The telematic meeting was aimed to strengthen bilateral relations between Venezuela and Iraq, in addition to provide a space to evaluate the design of a roadmap for joint work in different areas.
In this sense, Vice-minister Rodríguez reaffirmed the interest of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in deepening on the energy, agricultural, science and technology relations with the Arab nation, among other spheres.
In this vein, she pointed out that the soon visit of the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Iraq to Venezuela is expected; and announced the holding of the first bilateral mixed commission, during which, government teams will energize and prioritize the different areas of cooperation.
According to Vice-minister Rodríguez, the meeting also served to inform that:
“Venezuela promotes, within the United Nations, the constitution of a group of friends in defense of the UN Charter, as well as a working group that is fully focused on the illegal application of unilateral coercive measures, which hinders the development and growth of our country and, of course, violate the human rights of all Venezuelans and people of other countries”.
