On Monday afternoon, the Foreign Vice-minister for Asia, the Middle East and Oceania, Capaya Rodríguez, held a meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Venezuela, Imam Edy Mulyono, to deepen cooperation relations in strategic sectors.
In this regard, the meeting’s agenda included an exchange of opinions on feasible cooperation spaces in the short term in the political, commercial, education and cultural areas.
The Venezuelan vice-minister seized the opportunity to reaffirm Venezuela’s spirit of brotherhood with the peoples of the world, especially with the Republic of Indonesia, a country with which uninterrupted diplomatic relations have been maintained for 60 years.
Currently, Caracas and Yakarta hold agreements for commercial and tourism development. Last year, Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza asserted that Indonesia is a fundamental power in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), an organization that seeks to speed up economic development and foster peace and stability in the region.
