Cycle of seminars on Singapore’s experience of economic transformation begins in Venezuela

With the presence of the Vice-ministers of Foreign Relations for Asia, the Middle East and Oceania, Capaya Rodríguez, and of Economic Cooperation, Ramón Gordils, this Thursday the first cycle of telematic seminars given by the Cooperation Agency of the Republic of Singapore began in the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry, addressed to national institutions within the framework of the strengthening of bilateral relations between both nations.

In her speech, Vice-minister Rodríguez, also ambassador to the Philippines, emphasized the importance of this cycle of seminars that paves the way for technical and commercial exchange between the South American country and the Asian island nation, so important at this time for the economic recovery of Venezuela, victim of unilateral coercive measures by Western powers.

This first seminar, focused on Singapore’s economic transformation process, featured a lecture by Daniel Seah, director for Latin America and the Pacific of the Singapore Cooperation Agency (SCE).

The Venezuelan ambassador in Singapore, Jessica López, accompanied the activity where the speaker shared the island’s economic development journey and its transformation in the span of a generation, using the method patented by the Agency.

Director Seah highlighted the importance of the State in establishing a clear vision for the future, its role as an enabler, providing a safe and pro-business environment to attract investment.

The SCE is an agency formed by the Singapore Ministries of Trade and Industry, and Foreign Relations, created to share the development experience of the Southeast Asian country in the international context.
