The activity had the participation of the People’s Power Minister for Foreign Relations, Jorge Arreaza; the Apostolic Nuncio Aldo Giordano, and Father Numa Molina.

“I think it is a sign of providence to beatify a doctor at this time when humanity is so affected by this pandemic”, the Apostolic Nuncio stressed.

He also described that Venezuela and other countries in the world are on the alert for the realization of this dream. «José Gregorio Hernández was humble, he set his sights on the people who suffered the most. A man of dialogue and peace”, he described.

Foreign Minister Arreaza expressed his gratitude to His Holiness Pope Francis and his closest group, for the work undertaken to materialize the promotion to the altars of the doctor of the poor, venerated for 100 years by the Venezuelan people.

He also recognized the work of the 28 artists who “are going to give to our souls, more than to our eyes, these works of sculpture, drawings and techniques of different currents.”

Finally, Father Numa Molina blessed the exhibition and urged to continue betting on art, reconciliation and love.

In June 2020, in an audience with Cardinal Angelo Becciu, Pope Francis authorized the decree promulgated by the Congregation for the Cause of Saints that would grant the beatification of Dr. José Gregorio Hernández, after the unanimous approval of the Yaxauri miracle Ortega.
