In the framework of bilateral cooperation between the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the Syrian Arab Republic, the Vice-minister for Asia, the Middle East and Oceania, Capaya Rodríguez, held a meeting on Wednesday with the Syrian ambassador in Caracas, Khalil Bitar.
During the meeting, Ambassador Khalil Bitar highlighted that the presidential elections will be held soon in the Arab country, this May 26, “but in our embassies we will hold them this May 20, a week before, for which we ask for your maximum support to this elective week.”
Vice-minister Rodríguez, for her part, expressed her solidarity with the people of Syria. “Count on us, on our loyalty and our support; We have fought against the same enemy and we have become stronger, despite threats and unilateral coercive measures, we are stronger”, she said.
Venezuela and Syria have more than 74 years of diplomatic relations, and have signed various political, economic, commercial, tourist and cultural agreements, among other areas.
