In order to exchange information and establish cooperation programs with the Plurinational State of Bolivia in the migration, consular areas, a delegation from the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela paid a visit from April 17-23 to follow a tight working agenda.
As part of this agenda, the Director of Consular Relations of Venezuelan’s Foreign Ministry, Eulalia Tabares, and the Director of Foreign Consular Services, Eudys Almeida, visited the bordering city Desaguadero and Copacaba, two areas located on both sides of the Titicaca Lake with a great flow of Venezuelan immigrants.
On Wednesday, April 21, the First Meeting of the Consular, Immigration Consultation Mechanism was held with the participation of Bolivian migration authorities and institutions for the defense of children and adolescents in Bolivia.
Later, a meeting on legal cooperation took place, and three working groups were held to address issues related to Venezuelan immigration, extradition of convicted people and abduction of minors. This meeting was attended by the Director General for Childhood of Bolivia’s Justice Ministry and officers from the Bolivian police.
During this visit, Director Tabares gave training workshops on the consular area to officials from the Venezuelan diplomatic mission in La Paz.
