The Minister of People’s Power for Foreign Affairs, Jorge Arreaza, welcomed on Sunday the Executive Director of the World Food Programme (WFP) at the Simón Bolívar International Airport as part of the cooperation agenda between Venezuela and this UN program.
The diplomatic representatives held an important working meeting about the cooperation agreements between Venezuela and the WFP.
The meeting was also attended by the Vice-minister for Multilateral Affairs, Daniela Rodríguez, and the WFP Regional Director for Latin America and the Caribbean, Miguel Barreto.
By mid-April last year, Venezuelan government authorities held a video conference with the WFP Regional Director for Latin America and the Caribbean, Miguel Barreto, to coordinate joint actions against COVID-19.
The World Food Programme (WFP) is the largest humanitarian agency focusing on hunger in the world. It supports national and regional efforts to guarantee food security in each country, especially to the most vulnerable citizens since 1961.
