The background of coercive measures is exposed in a discussion about the book “We will live: Venezuela against the Hybrid War.”

This Tuesday, a discussion was held on the book We will live: Venezuela against the Hybrid War, which seeks to reveal the illegal nature of the unilateral coercive measures [misnamed sanctions], that try to suffocate the Venezuelan people by violating international legal law.

The activity carried out via telematics included the participation of Manolo de los Santos (The People’s Forum), Ana Maldonado, an activist from the Francisco de Miranda Front; Anya Parampil, American journalist; and Carlos Ron, president of the Simón Bolívar Institute for Peace and Solidarity among Peoples, all of them collaborators of the book.

“We have tried with this book to collect the experiences of different intellectuals and articulate them from a more theoretical way to explain the truth about the hybrid war in Venezuela”, said Manolo de los Santos.

He explained that since the beginning of the revolutionary process it has been evident how the North American Government has been creating the environment of aggression in multiple ways and normalizing its aggressive and illegal blockade in the world.

“This has been a process that in recent years has risen to other levels, particularly since the Obama administration”, he added.

The co-authors agreed that since the awakening of the Venezuelan people in the 1990s, the possibility of a better future has become palpable for the peoples of the continent and the world.

They added that the experiences of other countries that are also victims of the illegal blockade do not compare with the selective and spiteful process applied by the US empire against Venezuela.
