Venezuela considers as fair and balanced the proposal for a gradual increase in crude oil production as of May

As “balanced and fair”, described the Sector Vice-president of the Economic Area and People’s Power Minister for Petroleum, Tareck El Aissami, the proposal presented by Saudi Arabia, accompanied by Russia for the gradual increase in crude production from May, in the framework of the 15th OPEC+ Ministerial Meeting held this Thursday.

El Aissami, assured that, “it would be an important signal to consider that this decision of the gradual increase as of May, is accompanied by permanent monitoring and surveillance”, with the aim of evaluating the impact of this measure on the behavior of the world energy market.

“We can gradually adjust the compensation mechanisms of the countries that have not done so until now”, he said, highlighting the relevance of this commitment made by the nations that make up this important energy alliance.

The nations that make up OPEC+ have highlighted the importance of the stability of the energy market, based on the joint interest of the producing countries, which allows efficient and safe supply to consumers, under this premise Venezuela supports the decisions that join efforts to achieve this goal.
