Minister El Aissami ratifies the importance of the Declaration of Cooperation in the recovery of the world oil market

The Sector Vice-president of the Economic Area and People’s Power Minister for Petroleum, Tareck El Aissami, regarding his participation in the 15th OPEC+ Ministerial Meeting, ratified this Thursday the importance of the Declaration of Cooperation in the recovery and stabilization of the world oil market.

“Today we are going to keep working and deepening the Declaration of Cooperation, this mechanism that we have described as virtuous, has allowed us the stability of the global energy industry, especially in the oil market with stable prices for an economy that recovers from the catastrophic impact of the Covid pandemic.”

This was stated by the representative of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela before OPEC, during the meeting held via videoconference between the ministers of the OPEC and non-OPEC nations, under the presidency of Abdul Aziz bin Salman, Minister of Energy of Saudi Arabia, and the co-chair Alexander Novak, Vice-prime Minister of the Russian Federation.

Also participating in the meeting are the Angolan Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Diamantino Pedro Azevedo, in his capacity as president of the OPEC Conference, as well as the Secretary General of OPEC, Mohammed Barkindo, along with representatives of the nations that make up the OPEC+.

El Aissami reiterated the commitment of the country in pursuit of the objectives set in the framework of this important energy alliance and that promotes the recovery of the post-pandemic economy. “Our conviction is tied to this commitment to work with the OPEC+ countries”, he said.

Venezuela, one of the promoting nations of the Declaration of Cooperation as a fair, timely and necessary mechanism to seek the rebalancing of the world oil market, participates in this new meeting to continue advocating for compliance with the measures agreed in defense of the interests of producing and consuming countries.
