Vice-minister Pimentel signs a book of condolences for victims of the explosion in the city of Bata

This Tuesday, at the Embassy of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea in Caracas, the Vice-minister for Africa of the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry, Yuri Pimentel, signed the book of condolences for the great explosion that occurred on March 7 in the city of Bata, which left dozens of injured, deceased and significant material losses in the African country.

During his visit to the diplomatic headquarters, the Vice-minister ratified the bonds of solidarity and brotherhood that unite both peoples; as well as the will of the Bolivarian Government to continue providing support in catastrophic situations.

In recent days, President Nicolás Maduro Moros sent a shipment of household goods, food and basic necessities to the African country to attend to the victims of the explosions.

The supplies were also delivered by Vice-minister Pimentel, who arrived in Equatorial Guinea and held several working meetings with Equatoguinean authorities.

“We could let down a people and a country that we feel like ours (…) That’s what we are for, friendship and solidarity, especially in difficult times, so count on us, count on the people of Venezuela”, emphasized the Vice-minister.

The city of Bata is the commercial center of Equatorial Guinea, in central Africa. The explosions originated in the Nkuantoma barracks and destroyed a large part of the military installations located in that area, as well as the houses and nearby buildings.
