ALBA-TCP executive secretary meets with Bolivia’s president to strengthen Alliance

On a visit to the Plurinational State of Bolivia, the Executive Secretary of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our Americas- People’s Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP), Sacha Llorenti, held a number of meetings with important authorities, including President Luis Arce.

On his Twitter account, Llorenti informed he talked to the Bolivian president about “the return of democracy, important achievements in the economy and health areas, and the strengthening of ALBA-TCP.”

The ALBA-TCP executive secretary first met with the Minister of Rural Development and Lands, Edwin Characayo, to coordinate and build strategic alliances. Later, he met with Foreign Minister Rogelio Mayta to address issues such as the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic and the defense of multilateralism.

Likewise, Llorenti held a meeting with the Minister of Health and Sports, Jeyson Auza Pinto, to review the commitments resulting from the Meeting of the ALBA-TCP Health Social Council, held in January. Also, he spoke to the Vice-minister of Communication, Gabriela Alcon, ahead of the forthcoming Meeting of ALBA-TCP Communication and Information High-ranking Authorities.

The executive secretary also met with the Minister of Economy and Finance, Marcelo Montenegro, ahead of the forthcoming 11th ALBA-TCP Council of Economic Complementation.

Finally, Llorenti held a meeting with the Minister of Environment and Water, Juan Sanos Cruz, to coordinate efforts in the fight against climate change and the defense of the Pachamama. They also coordinated international cooperation in the context of structural transformation, development policies.
