The Minister of People’s Power for Science and Technology, Gabriela Jiménez, held a meeting on Tuesday with his Cuban counterpart, Elba Rosa Pérez Montoya, to assess their countries’ alliance in this field.
Likewise, the Cuban and Venezuelan authorities exchanged information on the development of research related to technologies, diagnosis and biotechnology therapies to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.
Cooperation in agriculture
Also, the Minister of People’s Power for Productive Agriculture and Lands, Wilmar Castro Soteldo, held a meeting with his Cuban counterpart, Gustavo Rodríguez, to strengthen alliances in this field.
The Cuban and Venezuelan authorities reviewed cooperation in agriculture, assessed projects, and reaffirmed their will to expand bilateral projects.
These meetings took place as part of President Nicolás Maduro’s efforts to further develop the joint activities in science, technology and agriculture undertaken within the framework of the Cuba-Venezuela Comprehensive Cooperation Agreement endorsed 20 years ago.
Cuba and Venezuela will continue developing and promoting cooperation projects to boost their economies and improve the wellbeing of their peoples.
