On Wednesday, the Vice-minister for Africa of the Ministry of People’s Power for Foreign Affairs, Yuri Pimentel, held a meeting with the Ambassador of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, Gaouthi Benmoussat.
In the meeting, the two authorities reviewed the bilateral relations between Algeria and Venezuela ahead of the 50th anniversary of their diplomatic relations.
As the Dean of the African Diplomatic Corps, Ambassador Gaouthi Benmoussat spoke with Vice-minister Pimentel about the Cultural Festival of African Peoples, to be held in May on the occasion of the Week of Africa and the commemoration of Africa Day on May 25.
Venezuela and Algeria established diplomatic relations on March 23, 1971. The two nations have strategic agreements in the areas of energy, politics, communications, education, culture, trade, industry and agriculture, among others.
