Foreign Minister Arreaza to Deputy Paulo Pimenta: I put myself at the service of the Brazilian media to tell the truth about Venezuela

After evaluating the possibility of continuing the humanitarian bridge between Brazil and Venezuela, this Wednesday, the People’s Power Minister for Foreign Relations, Jorge Arreaza, spoke with the Brazilian deputy Paulo Pimenta, and put himself at the service of the community and alternative media to tell the truth of the Bolivarian country.

“Without a doubt there is a very strong media siege on Venezuela. We have not found the ways to transmit our reality, but I put myself at the service of the community and alternative media in Brazil to tell them our truth. We are going to break the siege!” He said.

During the interview, the Venezuelan Foreign Minister offered a general panorama of the country’s economic situation and explained how US imperialism, through the criminal blockade, has caused the deterioration of the Venezuelan oil industry.

“Before the Bolivarian Revolution, we practically gave it away to the United States. Venezuela was a neocolony of that country. To defend Venezuela is to defend the southern countries so that imperialism does not appropriate our dignity, and as far as we can resist, other progressive governments will rise. I am sure that in Brazil it will happen”, he added.

Regarding the blockade imposed by the United States, the Minister highlighted the confiscation of assets abroad, the theft and the illegal sale of Citgo, in addition to not being able to use international banking to process payments corresponding to the purchase of raw materials, food, medicines, among others; and the persecution of Venezuelan oil exports.

On the other hand, he assured that he did not have higher expectations with the Joe Biden government, but did not rule out political dialogue.

“Imperialism is one, same interests, same objectives, there are sometimes differences in tactics but the objective continues to be to take political power over Venezuela to gain access to natural resources”, Foreign Minister Arreaza explained.
