The Chinese specialists delegation in prevention and control of the Covid-19, ended its visit on Sunday in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, after offering guidance and assistance for the diagnosis and treatment of the virus.
The team made up of epidemiologists, specialists in intensive medicine and traditional Chinese medicine, has been in the country since March 31 as part of the epidemiological cooperation and accompaniment established by both nations.
The farewell at the Maiquetía Simón Bolívar International Airport was given by the Executive Vice-president, Delcy Rodríguez, the People’s Power Minister for Foreign Relations, Jorge Arreaza, and representatives of the accredited Chinese diplomatic mission in the country.
The Venezuelan authorities granted the specialists the Francisco de Miranda Order decoration in its second Precursor class.
In his retirement from the Caribbean nation, the specialist Huang Mao highlighted that Venezuela has taken the appropriate measures to control and contain the pandemic.
“Venezuela applied the quarantine on time, the screening with direct tests in the communities has prevented the virus from spreading. The Covid-19 is a very dangerous enemy, it knows no borders, but the correct measures have been taken (…) we appreciate the welcome they have given us, hopefully the development of both countries can advance together and have a bright future”.

The experts’ work agenda included visits to sentinel, public and private health centers and advice to Venezuelan doctors to strengthen treatment schemes for critically ill patients with mild and moderate respiratory conditions.
So far, three shipments with supplies and medical equipment from the People’s Republic of China have been received in Venezuela; respirators, portable color ultrasound machines, test kits, medical masks, and protective suits.

Cooperation with the Asian nation has been key on keeping the spread of the virus flat and the care of confirmed patients in Venezuela.
In recent days, Presidents Xi Jinping and Nicolás Maduro, agreed through a telephone contact to expand medical-technical cooperation in the coming weeks.
“China will not change the directive to persist in solidarity and cooperation with Venezuela and will not change its position of supporting the Venezuelan government and people in defending their national sovereignty and their right to explore their own path of development according to their particularities”, Chinese President reiterated.
