A survey conducted by International Consulting Services (ICS) shows that 80% of Venezuelans believe the unilateral coercive measures imposed by the U.S. government affect all Venezuelans equally, while 18% think they just affect President Nicolás Maduro.
The survey was conducted via telephone between May 17 and June 3 in 20 states and the Capital District.
Likewise, 66.3% of respondents think the U.S. government is trying to hamper the distribution of fuel in Venezuela.
Regarding the main problems the country currently faces as a direct result of the economic blockade, fuel shortage (20.9%), inflation (11.4%), low salaries (10%) and food shortage (3.6%) rank first.
The survey also confirms the approval of President Nicolás Maduro regarding several aspects of his management. 67.1% report he is the leader who have handled the COVID-19 pandemic the best in his country, and 46.3% say his management has improved.
Since 2014, at least 300 unilateral coercive measures have been approved by the Donald Trump administration against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, severely crippling the people’s economy and everyday life.
