Venezuela, Mexico strengthen bilateral cooperation, discuss issues of regional interest

On Friday, Vice-minister for Multilateral Affairs, Daniela Rodríguez, held a cordial meeting with Chargé d’Affaires of the United Mexican States, Mauricio Vicaíno, to review issues of bilateral and multilateral interest for the wellbeing and development of their countries and the region.

“We met today with Mexico’s Chargé d’Affaires to Venezuela to review multilateral and joint cooperation issues, shared and strategic interests of our countries,” stressed Rodríguez.

The Venezuelan vice-minister for Multilateral Affairs explained that the Mexican and Venezuelan governments are trying to move forward with new ideas to strengthens the Latin American integration in the face of the current political, economic and sanitary situation.

“Mexico holds the Pro Tempore Presidency of CELAC, and we can do a lot together,” she added.

Mexico took on the Pro Tempore Presidency of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States on January 8 this year. CELAC, as an integration mechanism established in Caracas in 2011, promotes the economic, social and cultural development of the 33 Latin American and Caribbean countries.
