185 nationals arrive in Venezuela on a special day of the Plan Vuelta a la Patria from Guayaquil

The Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela activated this Friday a special day of the Plan Vuelta a la Patria with two flights from Guayaquil, Ecuador, the first of which arrived in the national territory in the afternoon with 95 Venezuelans on board, and the second with 90 nationals.

The nationals were received at the Simón Bolívar International Airport in Maiquetía by a delegation from the People’s Power Ministry for Foreign Relations and medical-health personnel, in strict compliance with the biosafety and protection measures required by the WHO and the Presidential Commission for Combat of COVID-19 in Venezuela.

To date, there have been 43 repatriation flights from Ecuador and the second during the month of November from Guayaquil, said the Venezuelan consul in the Ecuadorian city, Fernando Bello.

The Plan Vuelta la Patria was created by President Nicolás Maduro to facilitate the voluntary and free return of Venezuelans in vulnerable conditions in other countries of the region, even in the face of the health contingency derived from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Since its launch in 2018, this program has managed to repatriate a total of 21,379 nationals.

This Friday, a second flight from Guayaquil with another 90 Venezuelans has been scheduled.
