Bolivarian Government to take legal actions against Spanish ABC newspaper if false information is not corrected

Minister of People’s Power for Foreign Affairs, Jorge Arreaza, reiterated on Monday a demand for Spanish ABC newspaper to correct false information published in June, 2020, irresponsibly accusing Venezuela of financing Italy’s Five Star Movement (M5S).

On his Twitter account @jaarreaza, the Venezuelan foreign minister explained Solicitor General Reinaldo Muñoz sent a communication last week to the Spanish newspaper, proving with irrefutable evidence it published false information and used forged documents to harm the South American country.

“The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela demands ABC newspaper to make corrections immediately. Otherwise, we will be compelled to take legal actions against this Spanish newspaper, bent on systematically attacking Venezuela with sensationalist lies,” warned the Venezuelan diplomat.

To the communication sent to ABC, Foreign Minister Arreaza explained, was appended a technical report proving, with enough evidence, the forgery of the documents published by the Spanish newspaper.

On June 15, Foreign Minister Arreaza accused Spain’s ABC newspaper, which he described as “old fake news with shameless sensationalism,” of being part of the factory of lies, defamation, deceit and slander that are manufactured by the international media to attack Venezuela.
