Top-quality Venezuelan coffee exhibited to more than 20 countries at 2nd “Friends of Venezuela” virtual meeting

The ambassadors and diplomatic representatives of Turkey, Algeria, Indonesia, Russia, South Africa, Palestine, Cuba, Syria, Kuwait, Belarus and China met on Friday at the 2nd “Friends of Venezuela” virtual meeting, chaired by Venezuela’s Minister of People’s Power for Tourism and Foreign Trade, Félix Plasencia.

At the video conference, Minister Plasencia thanked the countries that joined the promotion of Venezuelan export quality products, and ratified his commitment to supporting Venezuela’s coffee production.

“Today, we will enjoy the pleasure of tasting our coffee, a grain recognized as one of the world’s best by the International Coffee Organization,” said the Venezuelan tourism minister.

The 2nd “Friends of Venezuela” virtual meeting was attended by 22 ambassadors, who also received a sample of Venezuelan coffee and desserts to participate in the coffee tasting.

The video conference was also attended by President of the Bank of Foreign Trade (Bancoex), Héctor Silva, who said that this event marks the beginning of the promotion of top-quality Venezuelan products.

“We want to position our export quality products in a more exclusive international market. Products like rum, coffee, chocolate and tobacco.,” he said.

At the 2nd “Friends of Venezuela” virtual meeting, the Venezuelan authorities announced the country is ready to participate in the first virtual edition of Singapore Specialty Coffee Auction on October 1, 2020, and other international events that will take place this year.
