President Maduro to the EU: It is impossible to suspend constitutional elections of 2020
The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, responded to the European Union (EU), and clarified to the international body that it is impossible to suspend the mandatory constitutional elections of 2020
“Impossible, ask whatever you want, but don’t ask the impossible, do not ask us to violate the Constitution. It is a mandate, that is clear, there are plenty of electoral guarantees in Venezuela, there are enough. We have to give more and more guarantees and you girls, boys, become the observers of the electoral guarantees. We have to comply with the electoral guarantees throughout the country, all circuits, all states”, he stressed.
Along these lines, the national leader invited the international body to think it through and not go after Donald Trump’s failed script based on the conspiracy, while reminding them that these elections have been held every five years without interruption.
In the face of the electoral appointment, President Maduro reported that many organizations have already ratified their presence in the country as electoral companions. “Many bodies have already ratified.”
The Head of State ratified his decision to maintain good ties with the European Union, but regretted that the United States Department of State does not allow the instance to have good relations with the South American country.
“The European Union crashed into Trump’s policy. Are you going to continue failing with Donald Trump’s policy? We are here with good intention, good will and wanting to speak, to understand each other. Hopefully you will send, if not a super commission to the elections in Venezuela, send a commission in private, if you want to see the truth (…) you will be able to see the electoral campaign, the elections, you will be able to see the truth of Venezuela which the United States government hides from you to see”, said the dignitary.
