President Maduro urges debate to rescue the National Assembly

The rescue of the National Assembly, the comprehensive military defense of the nation and the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic were the three central proposals of the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, during a videoconference this Saturday with the Bolivarian Congress of the Peoples.

This telematic meeting had the participation of the Sector Vice-president for Territorial Socialism, Aristóbulo Istúriz; the Venezuelan ambassador to the Republic of Cuba, Adán Chávez, and representatives of more than 76 social and political movements.

“We must handle the concept of unity in the action of the Bolivarian historical bloc, the historical bloc of change, the historical bloc of the revolution”, emphasized the Venezuelan president.

In this sense, he highlighted the decisive role that the Bolivarian Congress of the Peoples has played “in all the battles of 2019, to guarantee peace and stability in the country.”

Colombia seeks to change the focus of attention

In the videoconference, President Nicolás Maduro condemned the hostile policy that the Government of Colombian President Iván Duque maintains regarding Venezuela.

“Now Iván Duque, as a good front man of Álvaro Uribe Vélez in politics, goes out to attack Venezuela to divert the focus from the real problems of Colombia, and to justify an aggression against Venezuela, to call imperialism to attack; but here we are standing, well planted, with the Bolivarian Congress of the Peoples”, he stressed.

The Venezuelan dignitary also denounced that the Duque Government defamed Venezuela in its intention to hide the reality of Colombia, where at least 35 massacres and the murder of more than 200 social leaders have been documented so far this year, plus “the chaos due the pandemic.”
