Venezuela ratifies call to maintain unity in consensus of the Declaration of Cooperation OPEC+

The People’s Power Minister for Petroleum, Tareck El Aissami, ratified this Thursday during the 19th Meeting of the Joint Monitoring Ministerial Committee (JMMC) of OPEC, the call to continue with the effort and commitment of all participating countries to achieve the goal of the adjustments agreed in the OPEC+ Declaration of Cooperation.

“We ratify our call to remain united in the higher purposes framed in this Declaration of Cooperation, recalling part of the quote by the Russian poet Bulat, made by His Excellency Barkindo: Let us unite, dear friends. We will not get lost if we are together”, wrote El Aissami on his account on Twitter @TareckPsuv.

During his speech at the Meeting of the Joint Ministerial Monitoring Committee, El Aissami assured that the Declaration of Cooperation is the virtuous mechanism to overcome difficulties, restore balance and achieve stability in the oil market and in the world economy.

“The impact of Covid-19 on the energy market and its impact on compliance with the production adjustment agreed by the OPEC+ countries, are the Committee’s priorities, with a view to the future of the global economy and the world oil industry”, wrote El Aissami.

He ratified the commitment to make the necessary compensations agreed at the last OPEC+ Ministerial Meeting, “accordingly, we urge countries to send their compensation plan specifying a schedule with goals. This alone would guarantee the stability of the world’s energy industry”.

The Venezuelan Oil Minister explained that this Agreement will allow riding and overcoming the crisis caused by the pandemic, and consolidate the stability of the world economic and financial system. “We are going in the right direction, we have no choice and we must act”.

“This forum not only has a commitment to the countries we represent, we understand the historical situation that the world is going through, we have a great responsibility towards the community and, therefore, I reiterate, we must act decisively”, he stressed.

Finally, he welcomed the Minister of Petroleum of Iraq, Ihsan Abdul Jabbar Ismaael and thanked on behalf of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, from President Nicolás Maduro, the extraordinary work that his Royal Highness Abdulaziz bin Salman, President of the JMMC, has been doing; the Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation, Alexander Valentinovich Novak, co-chair of the JMMC; Your Excellencies, Presidents of the OPEC Conference and our dear brother, Mohammed Barkindo, Secretary General of OPEC.
