Venezuela strengthens post COVID-19 trade alliances with Turkish businessmen
Within the framework of the historical Venezuela-Turkey Trade Cooperation Agreement, endorsed by Presidents Nicolás Maduro and Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Minister of People’s Power for Tourism and Foreign Trade Felix Plasencia participated in the seminar “Trade and investment opportunities in the post pandemic world: Venezuela,” in order to strengthen cooperation alliances.
The video conference was headed by President of the Turkey-Venezuela Business Council Nail Olpak, Turkish Ambassador to Venezuela Sevki Mutevellioglu, President of the Turkey-Venezuela Bilateral Council Ahmet Altug Oguz and 200 Turkish companies interested in investing in different productive areas in Venezuela.
The Venezuelan and Turkish authorities consolidated bilateral and multilateral cooperation, reaffirmed management in strategy areas for their countries’ economic and commercial development, and discussed their positive experience in handling COVID-19.
During his participation, Plasencia explained Venezuela’s potential in tourism and foreign trade, as well as the country’s capacity to attract investments in different fields such as agriculture, mining and energy.
Likewise, they agreed to consolidate a plan for binational trade rapprochement to contribute to strengthening the successful, historical relations between the governments and peoples of Venezuelan and Turkey.
