Venezuela registers four new COVID-19 cases

Sectorial Vice-president of Communication, Culture and Tourism Jorge Rodríguez informed on Monday afternoon that Venezuela recorded four new COVID-19 cases in the states of Anzoategui, Nueva Esparta and Bolivar for a total of 329 cases. At the Miraflores Presidential Palace, Rodríguez explained that out of the total cases, 142 (43.2%) patients have recovered, 89 are in sentinel hospitals, 64 in Comprehensive Diagnosis Centers (CDIs), 24 in private clinics, and 10 have died. Rodríguez stressed that the online COVID-19 diagnosis survey of the Patria System has been answered by 18,988,616 Venezuelans, out of whom 191,035 have been visited for house-to-house screening. Venezuela is one of the countries in the region that has done more tests with a total of 440,966, which represents 14,699 tests per 1 million population. COVID-19 has claimed the lives of 211,098 people and has infected 3,056,162 people worldwide, being the United States the current epicenter with the highest case fatality rate (56,560 deaths) and 1,005,453 COVID-19 cases.
