Venezuela detects 5 new Covid-19 infections and the number rises to 323 cases

“In the last 24 hours, 5 new cases have been detected, they are referenced by Venezuelans who returned to the country through the Táchira state and who are in compulsory quarantine social care positions”, said Delcy Rodríguez, Executive Vice-president of the Republic, offering the usual balance of Coronavirus (Covid-19) statistics in the country. The Vice-president stressed that these are Venezuelans “who have been fleeing from discrimination and expressions of xenophobia” in the New Granada nation. To date, 132 citizens have recovered from Covid-19, which translates into 40.9 percent of the cases registered by Venezuela. Likewise, Rodríguez indicated that 423 thousand 592 tests have been carried out, which represents 14 thousand 120 tests applied per million inhabitants, “placing Venezuela among the first countries on the continent and in the world”. The investigations carried out by the army of white coats, led by health workers from the Barrio Adentro Mission, have been a “fundamental tool for detecting cases early and giving immediate attention”, stressed the Vice-president, regarding the efforts carried out by the National Government to protect the health of the people and stop the spread of the virus.
