French union condemns attacks against the Venezuelan people

The CGT Union, from the Bouches-du-Rhȏne department in southern France, issued a statement condemning the attacks against the Venezuelan people. From Marseilles, said union denounces the new attacks by the empire against the people and Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and demands that the United States and its accomplices lift the economic blockade and the financial sanctions that they impose on the people of Venezuela. Furthermore, the union calls on the French Government to rectify its position and condemn this attack. The CGT union of the department of Bouches-du-Rhône has expressed its solidarity with the Bolivarian Revolution on multiple occasions and even organized last September, in the town of Port-de-Bouc (about 40 km from the city of Marseille ), an event in support to the Bolivarian Revolution. In this sense, the union sends again a message to the workers of Venezuela and to the Venezuelan people: “The CGT union in Bouches-du-Rhȏne is by your side, you are not alone”. Communiqué of the Departmental Union CGT-13

VENEZUELA

The world is facing a “health” crisis, where the priority must be to protect populations and save lives. It is in this period that the President of the United States has decided to take a leap forward in his war against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. Indeed, President Trump and his administration have announced a transition plan to “dismiss from power” the democratically elected President Nicolás Maduro and his government, and as usual, the European Union and France, in good hands of the United States, supported very quickly this project. At the same time, several thousand American soldiers have been deployed along the Venezuelan coast. The CGT Union from the Bouches-du-Rhȏne department denounces this new imperialist attack. More than ever, the United States and its accomplices must lift the economic blockade and the financial sanctions that they impose on the people of Venezuela. We demand that France review its position and condemn this aggression, and use its full weight at European level. Capitalism is leading the world to its destruction and the situation we find ourselves in today is a sad example. Workers from Venezuela, the Venezuelan people, the CGT union in Bouches-du-Rhȏne is by your side, you are not alone. Against imperialism, fascism and capitalism, long live international solidarity, social progress and peace! The original statement in French is attached below:
