World Day of Action in Solidarity with Venezuela
No to the imperialist plans against the people of Venezuela!
On the occasion of the World Day of Action in Solidarity with Venezuela, the New Communist Party of Yugoslavia (NKPJ) expresses its solidarity with the people of Venezuela in their fight for the preservation of their independence and in their defense for the right to choose their own developmental path. The New Communist Party of Yugoslavia strongly condemns the attempts to interfere in the internal affairs of the people of Venezuela, as well as all the imperialist plans that aim to overthrow high, legitimately elected, public officials such as the so-called “Framework for the Democratic Transition in Venezuela”, which was joined by some of the EU allies, as well as some governments of South American countries. This US plan is a clear attempt to interfere in Venezuela’s internal affairs and provoke internal conflicts, which would only be an excuse for the blockade and unilateral sanctions against Venezuela, which, at this time, would make life difficult for Venezuelan citizens in their fight against the Covid-19 pandemic. The New Communist Party of Yugoslavia urges to suspend illegal sanctions imposed by the United States against Venezuela, as well as to return the assets illegally blocked in international banks to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, so that this country can rationally use them in the fight against the Covid-19 and resume its national production capacity. Now is the time for international solidarity, and not for aggression and blockade. The New Communist Party of Yugoslavia calls on all peoples, governments, movements, parties and international organizations to lend their support and help the Venezuelan people to stop this aggressive madness of imperialism in Latin America and the Caribbean thus defending their right to self-determination and peace.NKJP Secretariat Belgrade, April 19, 2020
