Venezuelan Government, National Assembly to foster humanitarian agreement
Lawmakers of the National Assembly (AN) will hold a meeting with Vice President Delcy Rodríguez to put forward their proposals and foster a humanitarian agreement with the participation of all the country’s sectors of society in order to contain and address the COVID-19 pandemic in Venezuela, informed President Nicolás Maduro on Tuesday, March 31.
During a Council of State meeting at the Miraflores Presidential Palace, the Venezuelan president endorsed the request made by President of the National Assembly Luis Parra, who expressed his will to work with the Bolivarian Government for the benefit of the Venezuelan people.
“Those of us who have state duties need to put aside our differences and keep on working in one single direction: national unity (…) We all have to act wisely, and above all, with a high level of collective consciousness, because we are talking about preserving life, which is the most important thing,” said Parra.
President Nicolás Maduro has called for a national dialogue more than 600 times and insisted that the best option is to solve problems and reach agreements by taking into account the country’s and people’s priorities.
