“The US foreign policy is outside the law; it is an illegal policy, contrary to international law and domestic legal systems, and violates domestic and international law,” denounced the Venezuelan Vice-president Delcy Rodríguez at a press conference held in the Simón Bolívar Press Room of the Miraflores Presidential Palace.
Rodríguez pointed out that the unilateral coercive measures imposed by the United States against Venezuela “try to violate our domestic jurisdiction. This crime against humanity has been taking shape since 2014, when that law was issued to provide a basis for the illegal Barack Obama decree declaring Venezuela a threat to the US national security and foreign policy.”
In this regard, Rodríguez condemned that this executive order was extended last March 5, 2020.
The Venezuelan vice-president explained that there is “a direct causality between their intentionality, which is the overthrow of the Venezuelan government, and these measures they are using to cause suffering to the Venezuelan civilian population.”
