President Maduro advocates cessation of repression against the Chilean people

The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, sympathized with the people of Chile and advocated the cessation of violence and police repression that is executed in that country, after the declaration of a curfew in Santiago (capital city), Chacabuco and the Valparaíso Region. “All my solidarity with the noble Chilean people, who are in resistance against the neoliberal political criminals implemented by capitalism. I advocate the cessation of violence and the brutal repression that violates the DD.HH. of the population ¡A hug to Chile!”, Said the head of state in his account on the social network Twitter @NicolasMaduro. This Saturday, the head of the National Defense of Chile, General Javier Iturriaga, decreed a curfew before the demonstrations in rejection of the neoliberal policies implemented by the government of Sebastián Piñera. The measure came into effect at 10:00 pm on Saturday and extended until 7:00 am on Sunday. The announcement of the curfew – the first that runs in Chile after the military dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet -, came after Piñera announced the suspension of the increase in the subway ticket, which led to social protests that left balance of 308 arrested and 160 wounded, after the strong repression ordered by the right of that country.
