Foreign Minister Arreaza: The United States must be neutralized by the multilateral system to avoid a tragedy
In an interview offered to the Central Edition program, broadcast through the multistate Telesur this Friday, the People’s Power Minister for Foreign Relations, Jorge Arreaza, rejected and repudiated the new threats of the president of the United States, Donald Trump, on the imposition of a possible naval or quarantine blockade to the South American country with support from neighboring countries.
He also insisted that the Human Rights Council of the United Nations (UN), must act against these threats to peace and international security pronounced by the ruling elite of Washington, “we will insist on each of the Permanent and non-permanent members of the Security Council to comply with the Charter of the United Nations, they have that obligation (…) The United States should be immediately neutralized by the multilateral system, by the United Nations to avoid a tragedy”.
The Venezuelan diplomat described as shameless the statements offered by the US president when considering this country as the greatest violator of human rights in the history of mankind. Likewise, he said that these statements are conducive to create tension in the dialogue table held by the Bolivarian Government and the Venezuelan opposition in Barbados with the intermediation of the Norwegian government.
“They intend to impose more tension, (…) They, who have clandestine prisons, who torture in Guantanamo, who violate the human rights of migrants, who put children in cages, who bomb civilians to keep the oil of the people, how can they have such impudence?”
In this regard, the People’s Power Minister for Foreign Relations said that the Venezuelan State is evaluating all options under international law to recover the properties of Venezuela abroad “we are in judicial proceedings in each country, in Portugal before the Cheek of Novo Banco, in the United Kingdom by the Bank of England, in all countries we are going to take actions to recover our wealth, the most serious of this is that we cannot use the international financial system to buy medicine and food”.
Finally, he rejected the multiple attacks on Venezuelan sovereignty on its border, which include more than 82 violations of Venezuelan airspace.
