Vice-president Istúriz meets in Nigeria with President of Ecowas Parliament

The president of the Parliament of the Economic Community of West African States (Ecowas), Moustapha Cisse Lo, received on Tuesday the sectoral Vice-president of Social and Territorial Development of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Aristóbulo Istúriz, and the Vice-minister for Africa of the People’s Power Ministry for Foreign Relations, Yuri Pimentel. The high-level meeting, which took place in Abuja, established the framework within which the cooperation and exchange mechanisms between Venezuela and the West African countries will be consolidated. Vice President Istúriz and Vice Minister Pimentel traveled to the Federal Republic of Nigeria on the occasion of the celebration of the Day of Democracy, which marks the beginning of the second term of President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, with whom they held talks prior to the Meeting with the President of the Ecowas Parliament. The Venezuelan delegation will carry out an extensive program of activities that includes exchanges with high-level officials from different African countries.
