CLAP strengthens distribution structure to combat US economic blockade
Food security for the people is one of the political priorities of the Bolivarian Government, reinforced by the Local Supply and Production Committees (CLAP), a mechanism of social organization that today is strengthened to counteract the unconventional war imposed by the US government through the economic and financial blockade.
These instances that strengthen its structure in popular power arise in response to three major problems that affect the living conditions of Venezuelans: shortages, induced inflation and media war promoted by right-wing factors that adversely affect the constitutional government of President Nicolás Maduro Moors.
Despite these multiple discredit campaigns against the National Government, its response has been forceful, implementing alternatives that guarantee access to goods and services, including food distributed through the CLAP.
Proof of this is the Food Packaging Center (CEA) for the Local Supply and Production Committees Alfa 3, located in the Port of La Guaira, Vargas state, has five production lines for an operation capacity of 100,000 boxes per day, which are distributed by the Supply Corporation of Miranda, the Foundation for the Endogenous Communal Agroalimentary Development (Fundeca) and the Venezuelan Producer and Distributor of Food (Pdval) to the communities of the Valleys of Tuy, Baruta, Chacao, El Hatillo, Municipality of Sucre and Libertador.
At 8 o’clock in the morning the operation begins in this packing center, which has a working force of more than 200 workers who daily meet a production circuit to guarantee the dispatch of the CLAP boxes containing rice, pasta, legumes, oil, flour, milk powder and tuna; essential products of the basic basket offered at fair prices, and that today, before the economic blockade they become heroes and heroines of the Venezuelan people.

Naiger Mujica, integral operator, said that her commitment in the packaging center goes beyond a working day, her duty is with the Venezuelan people to face the imperial aggression that seeks to destabilize the country and promote a social explosion.
“We are working for the same cause, so that Venezuela is free and sovereign. Let’s follow the mandate that our commander Hugo Chávez left us and that President Nicolás Maduro continues”, said Mujica.
One of the particularities of the CEA is the force of women work there, such as Nidia González, who pointed out that this center constitutes one of the main sources of work for the Varguenses.
On the other hand, Deisy Salazar, said to feel proud as a Venezuelan to be part of the fight against the economic war that the American empire and its allies maintains to attack the sovereignty and peace of the Homeland of Bolívar.
“Our goal is to fight the imperialist blockade. In spite of the adversities we will stand in the fight, we will win”, said Salazar.
On April 25, during a press conference from the Organization of the United Nations, the Foreign Minister of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Jorge Arreaza, denounced the unilateral and coercive sanctions that the government of former US President Barack Obama began and that the administration of Donald Trump aggravates, makes it impossible for the Venezuelan State to acquire raw materials, food and essential medical supplies for the population.
