Foreign Minister Arreaza reiterates that the coup d’état in Venezuela in an interview with France 24 is a failure
The Foreign Minister of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Jorge Arreaza, said Monday through an interview with France 24, that “the actions of the self-styled Grupo de Lima are to generate an action against the National Government and the President of the Republic Bolivariana de Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro”, this in reference to the meeting that the member countries held this afternoon.
In that sense, he indicated that “today there was a process to make the Lima Group sincere, you know that when creating that power there was not the United States (…) then there was another meeting where they made videoconference and received instructions from Mr. Pompeo (…) and today been chaired and directed by Mr. Pence, (…) which makes it very clear which are the objectives (…) generate actions for a coup, an irruption against the government”, added the Minister.
Regarding the sanctions announced this afternoon by the Vice President of the United States, Mike Pence, the Venezuelan Foreign Minister said that “Mr. Pence and the United States are not the owners of the world (…) that is part of the media show against Venezuela”, he said. Similarly, he said the nation will continue to work with its people.
Regarding attempts to intervene in the country, the Venezuelan diplomat said, “we are ready to defend our country, we are prepared to defend territorial integrity, the right to sovereignty, independence and peace (…) in no way Venezuela will seek or promote any intervention against any country in the world”.
The Head of the Diplomatic Portfolio, denounced that the supposed threats that have been made against the deputy Juan Guaidó, respond to a plan.
“A desperate obsession to accuse President Nicolás Maduro (…) even when they burn trucks on the Colombian side accuse us (…) they can not be believed at all”, said the FM.
Bolivarian Diplomacy of Peace
On this point, the Venezuelan diplomat noted that they have held several meetings with officials from the United States. “We have always wanted to maintain the dialogue (…) I even wish there was a meeting between President Nicolás Maduro and Donald Trump”, he added.
In the same way, he said “we will be here (…) as the commander Hugo Chávez said, defending peace!”.
Venezuela defends itself.
On the incidents of the weekend in the Colombian-Venezuelan border, the Foreign Minister pointed out that several of the soldiers involved in the “false flags” were bribed by the CIA. He also denounced the support of the Colombian president, Iván Duque, for irregular actions.
International recognition of Venezuela
The Head of the Diplomatic Portfolio, indicated that of the five powers there is only one in contempt and it is the National Assembly.
“There is an institutional situation that we can resolve (…) we will go forward as Venezuelans. The coup of the Venezuelan opposition is a failure”, he added.
He also said that “it is necessary that there be a process of independence of the Venezuelan opposition (…) from its ties with the United States and the White House”, said the Foreign Minister.
Finally, he recalled that the United Nations is currently collaborating with Venezuela and that it is a total paradox for Colombia to attack the peace of Venezuela.
