President Maduro meets with representatives of the UN in Miraflores
The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro Moros, holds a meeting with representatives of the United Nations (UN) at the Miraflores Palace on Saturday afternoon.
At the meeting, members of the Executive Cabinet and the international organization address issues related to social programs that the National Government is pursuing.
The activity is attended by the resident coordinator of the United Nations System and resident representative of the UNDP in Venezuela, Peter Grohmann; the representative of the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR), Matthew Crentsil and the representative of the United Nations Children’s Fund (Unicef) in Venezuela, Rafael Ramírez Mesec.
Also, the meeting counted with the presence of the country officer of the joint UN program on HIV / AIDS, Regina López; the assistant representative of the UN for Food and Agriculture (FAO), Carlos Miguel Mendoza; the representative of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) for Venezuela, Aruba, Curaçao, Saint Maarten and the insular territories of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, José Moya Medina; the deputy resident representative of the UN Development Program (UNDP), Rosicler Gómez and the representative of the UN Population Fund (Unfpa), Jorge González.
While the government delegation was formed by the Vice President of the Republic Delcy Rodríguez; the Vice President of Communication, Culture and Tourism, Jorge Rodríguez; the vice president for the Social Area Aristóbulo Istúriz, the Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza, among others.
