More than 9 thousand Venezuelans returned from Colombia fleeing the persecution

Across the Táchira state border, more than 9.000 compatriots have entered Venezuela from Colombia looking for protection against the spread of COVID-19. «More than 9.000 Venezuelans have returned along the Táchira border, 500 are entering daily». explained the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, during a telephone contact with the Presidential Commission for Follow-up, Attention and Control of COVID-19. Of the total, he reported that 3.000 Venezuelans are in their states of origin, after completing the obligatory quarantine in camps and being negative in the infectious disease detection tests, applied at the time of entering and leaving the confinement. «We have 6.015 compatriots in safe places that we hope that in the rest of the week and in the next one, they will return safe and sound to their states», he added. By way of balance, he explained that 2.000 people have entered through the Zulia state border, while 1.600 Venezuelans have entered through the Apure state border. The Dignitary indicated that 1.038 compatriots have entered through Santa Elena de Uairén (Bolívar), of which 350 remain in spaces of preventive confinement. Once the quarantine process has been completed, the compatriots return to their respective states, where they also receive comprehensive medical care by applying diagnostic tests to avoid possible COVID-19 infections.
