Political dialogue: Key to the victory of peace in Venezuela

The key to the victory of peace in Venezuela has undoubtedly been the repeated call for political dialogue that the president of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, has made to the opposition sectors to solve the nation’s problems in a sovereign and worthy manner, aiming to defeat the attempts of the United States government to generate a climate of destabilization and anxiety in the country. Since 2012, there are no less than 600 calls for dialogue made by the head of state to all national sectors to build a strategic alliance to add up to the search for solutions to the country’s problems, many of them, originated by the fierce economic and commercial blockade that undermines fundamental Human Rights and causes suffering to the Venezuelan people, which remains in permanent resistance and counteroffensive. Placing the welfare of the nation at the forefront, the president pointed out important victories with the Bolivarian Diplomacy of Peace inside and outside the nation, with the political, social and economic actors of the country. Representatives of opposition political parties staged an important stage of the dialogue and six historical milestones were built last October, in order to advance the debate and negotiation in various agreements of interest to the nation. In a recent chronology, the fruits of this important effort of the national president are evidenced. A set of actions gave way to negotiations between the parties, including the incorporation of the Bloque de la Patria into the National Assembly, today in contempt, which has left as a positive result for the Venezuelan people the establishment of a new board of directors focused on reinstitutionalizing the legislative branch immediately. Another premise, this time in an advanced constitutional order, has been the formation of a new National Electoral Council, which tends to continue and sustain the already consolidated guarantees as a fundamental right. For the fulfillment of this objective, it is imperative that the National Assembly put an end to its contempt and thus propose the profiles names of those ethical and professional women and men who will make up the Electoral Power. The rejection of unilateral coercive measures and the commercial and financial blockade by the United States government is another point of honor of the National Dialogue Table. The National Dialogue Board will also continue working on partial agreements in the following areas: Institutional scope: The parties will keep advancing in agreements on the balance between the constituted powers, such as the operation of the National Constituent Assembly, the mechanism of institutional normalization, the conflict between powers and overcoming the contempt of the National Assembly. This agreement will include the electoral processes that must be carried out in a climate of coexistence, broad electoral guarantees as well as political and social normality. Electoral: An agreement for the application of proportional representation of minorities established in the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela is discussed. Economic: Agreement for coordinated work between the public sector and private enterprise. Technical tables: Each partial agreement is maintained in the debate and they are discussed in specialized technical tables on each topic in order to improve its content and execution, in addition to adapting them to the Venezuelan Magna Carta. These working groups of the National Dialogue are initially made up of a delegation from the National Government and representatives of the following political parties: Movement To Socialism, Advanced Progress, Solutions and Change, as well as personalities from political, academic, economic and social life.

Background of interference.

On July 7, 2019, the national government announced the continuation of the dialogue with the Venezuelan opposition through the auspices of the government of the Kingdom of Norway. The meetings between the Venezuelan political sectors took place in Barbados and meant for the Bolivarian Republic the possibility of a political distention to the induced crisis which grew up drastically during this year. The mediation of Norway aimed to establish agreements between the parties, facing the challenges arising from the Pentagon and the White House war laboratories against the country. The Bolivarian Government denounced to the world that the dialogue in the Dominican Republic was imploded by the specific action and orders of today’s former US Secretary of State, Rex Tillerson, addressed to Julio Borges, all with the intention of sharpening and prolonging the development of a comprehensive crisis in Venezuela.

Agreements fulfilled

The government of President Nicolás Maduro, determined to show good faith to advance in the resolution of the problems that afflict Venezuelans, complied with the agreements of the Dominican Republic. In the first instance and according to the Venezuelan legal framework, he released people who had participated in the cycle of violence in 2014 and 2017, and generated guarantees for the presidential elections. The government of the United States, in a rude act of ignoring the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the self-determination of the people who freely and democratically elected Nicolás Maduro as president of the nation through the vote, fueled their onslaught by accelerating the economic, commercial and financial blockade against the nation. Besides, an unprecedented fact which is  replicated today in Latin America – Bolivia case – was added to this, the self-appointment of a parallel president to sharpen a conflict created by them to intervene in Venezuela. With this fictitious power granted by the US empire to a self-appointed and de facto president, Washington has manifested its fascist hatred against the people of Venezuela, not only with the looting of wealth but with terrorism and with coup plans, such as the so-called «Operation Freedom» at the bottom of April, which failed in its attempt for a military uprising thanks to the patriotic loyalty of the honorable Bolivarian National Armed Forces (Fanb). Only a lonely picture of Juan Guaidó and Leopoldo López in a bridge in the east Caracas remained of those days, which outlined the chronicle of the defeat and decline of the violent agenda.

Trump and his persecution against the people of Venezuela

With a permanent war threat, economic suffocation and attempts to interfere with the Fanb, the US government leads an attack on Venezuelan institutions. Despite its many efforts, the results have always been negative, both for the United States and for its local managers, who have had to savor defeat, since it has been dialogue, as a peace initiative, what has been imposed in all scenarios. All attacks bear the signature of Donald Trump.

The target of the attack has always been the dialogue

The United States aims to dismantle and tear the structure of the National Dialogue strengthened today, with various arguments already referred and under the premise of the resignation of the legitimately constituted government in Venezuela led by Nicolás Maduro Moros. The North in its relentless struggle to deliver the power of Venezuela to a sector of the extreme right who satisfies its historical vagaries of hegemony and domination of the Monroe Doctrine, will not cease to attack the dialogue, so the Venezuelan government has done the right thing, denouncing to the world the intentions of destroying the only peaceful way that Venezuela has to face the enemy of the planet. The permanent debate of ideas marks the direction of the consolidation of our independence and the construction of a model, the XXI Century Socialism, which faces the Paper Tiger, to leave in the annals of history that it is through the word, the ideas and the patriotic feeling, how lasting peace is achieved.
