The People’s Power Minister for Foreign Relations, Félix Plasencia, condemned through his official Twitter account the comments generated after the results of the last governor elections in the state of Barinas.
The Venezuelan Foreign Minister described as incoherent, disrespectful and “not very democratic” that the same opposition sectors that called for the electoral boycott now celebrate the results for being favored.
In this sense, the Minister recalled that “the electoral day in Barinas has the same validity as the rest of the country.”
Likewise, he stressed that “the elected authorities in Venezuela enjoy the credibility and trust” of the National Electoral Council (CNE), while assuring that the Venezuelan electoral system, “leaves no room for self-proclamations or for those who intend to assault power by the path of aggression and the imperial threat”.
